"Wednesdays"

Updated: May 10, 2022

It’s that day of the week again… Wednesday! Or as some may call it: “Hump Day.”

Wednesdays were coined the name “Hump Day” around the 1960’s. And as you know, it’s that “hump” or hill right in the middle of the week. (Not too far from Monday, and oh-so close to Friday!) Right in the middle of both.

I myself have often referred to this day as “Hump Day,” however, I also like to call it:

Well-being Wednesdays.

Well-being Wednesdays are days that I give and allow myself a moment to:

  • Check in with myself. My mind, spirit, feelings, mood and more.

  • Reflect. I go over my to-do list and goals for the week. See where I am, what I need to change, add, or remove.

  • Wednesdays, I also like to treat myself to a little something, i.e., coffee, a magazine, or maybe a new nail polish :)

  • or maybe give myself a little self-care session, i.e., a mani-pedi, facial.

We can easily get so caught up in our busy schedules, workload, or just the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. (Especially by the time Wednesday rolls around. Usually by this day, we are so far into it all). Therefore, we can easily forget about ourselves or put things off. Important things like, time for self-love, self-care, or just our overall.... well-being.

And I mean who has the time, or better yet, who has the audacity, to stop and pause, right in the middle of the week for time for self, or to give ourselves a little TLC, special attention, and so forth, right!?

However, doing so, might just be a healthy habit to practice and give ourselves; to help us refresh, remind ourselves that our mind, body, health, happiness and well-being matters and is just as important as everything and everyone in our lives.

Well, I hope that you pause and do something for you today and every Wednesday to follow. Whatever that something may be, big or small, i.e:

  • treat yourself to some Starbucks, coffee, tea, or muffin

  • take a hot bath with candles or bubbles

  • five, ten, fifteen-minute meditation

  • read a chapter from a book

  • write down some things that you are grateful for, or some journaling

  • maybe sit down and have a glass of wine or water infused with your favorite fruits

or if you're really that audacious, or bold enough, maybe treat yourself to a massage, go watch the sunset, take yourself out to eat…Yes on Hump Day! lol

Nonetheless, whatever you do today, I hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday, or what I like to call …Well-being Wednesday!

Be blessed
