Comfort ZONES: The Ugly Truth

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

Let's Talk About It

Let's talk about what we already know about “comfort zones.” We know that comfort zones keep us “safe” and “protected.” They protect us from such things as failure, embarrassment, rejection and so forth. Sounds like a good thing so far, right?!

Yes, of course! But truth is comfort zones do much more than that.

Comfort zones also keep us: Stuck. Stagnant. Unhappy. Isolated. Depressed. From moving forward in life. Going after our dreams. Growing. Trying. Doing. Doing the things that we love, always wanted and quite frankly, were born to do.

Shall I continue?

Because it doesn’t end there. NO! By far!

Comfort zones may appear to do us good, keep us safe and protected. But actually they hinder us from living the quality life that we all are deserve to live.

Truth is, many of us live our life this way— in a comfort zone. Afraid to try new things, aim higher, put themselves out there etc. I myself am one of those people. GUILTY!

Well, again, because its safe and protects me, from so many things: Disappointment, being hurt, let down, turned down and much more. Which I guess this is a good thing right?

Well yes, for a while at least.

But I mean, who wants to live all of their life at a place where nothing happens. Nothing grows. Nothing changes and only remains the same?

A place where you go on in life observing others — soar, accomplish, succeed and win!

All while you wish, dream and watch, right from your “safe” place.

Who wants that?

Who wants to live there life this way?

I don’t. At least not anymore. I want to grow, be great, do great things, be my best self. I want to receive all that life has for me. I want to live my life on purpose and full of purpose. Accomplish my goals. Start and complete my bucket list. Travel the world. Do the things that I enjoy. Live my dreams and not just dream about it all from afar.

Not only do I want this for myself but I want that for you too. But truth is we can’t do any of those GREAT things from a place of comfort.

Yes, our comfort zones are comfortable, safe and do protect us. But for how long? AND at what risk? After a while they no longer serve us any good or “protect” us from anything! — but from living the life that we should be living: A life full of purpose, prosperity and much abundance. AND that right there is the truth!

So — What exactly does it feel like and what happens on the other side of our comfort zones?

Glad you asked!

One word — MAGIC!

“Outside of your comfort zone is where the magic happens.” -Anonymous

Well, at least that’s what it will feel like— pure magic. Because when we begin to do things that we were once far too afraid of, suddenly, things begin to HAPPEN--around us, to us and for us. Things that didn’t happen before. Things that you’ve been waiting on.

So much so that it will all seem and feel so magical.

Things will begin to CHANGE. For the better! Doors will begin to open, that once remained closed. New opportunities will arise. You may even notice yourself happier and much more open and alive to change and newness.

Who knows you might even get that new house, car, finally start that hobby or project that you've been wanting and waiting on. And just so much more.

In fact, I believe there is a whole New World beyond our comfort zone that’s there just waiting on us. A whole new life even. A life that at first, we only could dream about from a distance.

That’s full of ENDLESS possibilities. Limitless joy, excitement, success, love and so much...Magic!

BUT there’s only way to find out…

Lets dare today — you and I both, to take small steps, baby steps even, out of our old place of comfort and into that new world that’s right there waiting on us and so full of magic.

Have a GREAT day!
